One time promoter of legendary American hard core bands, Steven Blush, recently visited Bay View, Wisconsin to promote the release of his second edition book entitled, “American Hardcore: A Tribal History.” Blush was on hand Dec. 2 at Rush-Mor Records to discuss the impact of the DIY hard core movement on music today.

Rodolfo T. Piana III, a student at Mount Mary College, covered the event and wrote an engaging article for the Mount Mary student newspaper, *Arches. Piana discusses both the book and the book release in his article, DIY punk movement remembered: Hardcore resonates through recent music history.

At Blush’s book release, Piana had the opportunity to interview both Blush and a variety of other’s interested in the hard core movement, including Dan Kubinksi, the lead singer for Die Kreuzen. Read more…
